Lufthansa has introduced a fast-track security initiative for passengers travelling on some domestic routes from its Munich hub.
Passengers flying from Munich to Berlin, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, and Cologne will be able to use new fast-track lanes at the central security checkpoint in Terminal 2.
The fast-track lanes are available to all passengers regardless of class and status, aiming to reduce the time spent at the security checkpoint, especially for business travellers.
Customer information regarding valid departures for the fast-track lanes is displayed on monitors, and the service will be suspended during holiday periods, exclusively available for families and passengers with reduced mobility.
Lufthansa plans to expand the service to include flights departing Munich for Brussels, Frankfurt, Vienna, and Zurich.
Lufthansa previously pioneered a biometric service at Berlin hat enables Lufthansa Group HON Circle and Senator members to access priority security lanes through facial recognition rather than the usual presenting of a valid boarding pass.
