Nepal has hosted 88,248 international visitors in September representing a 12.1pc increase on the previous year. Trekking routes including Larke Pass and the Manaslu region have reopened following improved weather conditions.
The Nepal Tourism Board released data showing the arrival figures. Travellers from India make up the largest individual market share. The National Trust for Nature Conservation confirmed that trekking permit issuance and checkpoint services have resumed.
The Annapurna region trails are operational including the Annapurna Circuit and Annapurna Base Camp. The Manaslu region routes are open and trekkers have crossed the Larke Pass. The PATA Foundation established the Nepal Tourism Recovery Fund to assist local guides porters and transport drivers.
