India’s civil aviation minister condemned Western media reports attributing blame before the investigation’s conclusion, describing such actions as premature. Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu expressed confidence in the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau, stating they are effectively leading the crash probe.

The June 12 crash in Ahmedabad resulted in 260 fatalities, making it the deadliest aviation incident in India for four decades.

A preliminary report indicated that both fuel control switches of the aircraft moved to “cut off.” The document does not state who, if anyone, moved the switches, using the neutral term “transitioned”, but some western media assigned pilot blame.

The AAIB director general criticised English and some international media for irresponsibly suggesting pilot error using unverified information, blaming systemic racism.
