No-warning strike causes cancellations at Hamburg airport

Almost all flights to and from Hamburg Airport were canceled on Sunday due to a strike by airport workers. One Dublin rotation was cancelled EI394@17.25 & inbound EI295.

A total of 144 arrivals and 139 departures were scheduled, but only 10 early morning flights operated as planned.

Many passengers faced challenges retrieving their checked luggage after the unexpected closure of the airport.

The strike was set to extend into Monday, affecting several major airports in Germany, including Munich and Frankfurt (Main).

An estimated 3,400 flights are projected to be canceled on Monday, impacting over 510,000 travelers including EIGHT Irish flights cancelled to Berlin, Frankfurt & Munich.
