A hotel in the south has been hit by a Norovirus outbreak that affected seven people, according to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre. It occurred the south (Cork and Kerry region), a person to person outbreak. The total number ill is 42.

Accute infectious gastroenteritis has affected guests in an unspecified hotel in the west region, with person to person transmission, affecting 16 cases.

It is not stated whether the hotel residents are on government contract or hospitality guests.
