The Shannon Airport Group has secured shortlistings in two categories at the 2026 Green Awards. The group received recognition in the Green Public Sector Organisation of the Year and Green Large Organisation of the Year sections. This achievement arrives amid a record entry total exceeding 300 for the awards, which serve as a key platform for sustainability excellence in Ireland.
The shortlistings build on the group’s attainment of Level Three Airport Carbon Accreditation and its success in the Biodiversity and Environment category at last year’s Chambers Ireland Awards. During 2025, the Shannon Airport Group also gained nominations for the Chambers Ireland Outstanding Achievement in Sustainable Business Impact Award and the Biodiversity Project of the Year at Ireland’s Climate Change Leadership Awards. Initiatives across the period focused on carbon emission reductions, biodiversity protection, renewable energy investments, and circular economy integration.
