The 12th annual Women in Aviation Day has taken place on 19 September 2026 hosted at the Shannon Aviation Museum in County Clare. Organised by the Women in Aviation International Ireland Chapter the event ran from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The initiative connects young ladies aged 11 to 18 with female role models across the industry to inspire future careers in STEM and aerospace.
Sponsored by Stellaer 212, ASG and Avolon the fully booked event featured interactive activities including educational workshops alongside opportunities to step inside aircraft. Industry role models provided face-to-face mentoring with female pilots including commercial, general aviation and drone pilots, aircraft engineers, air traffic controllers and cabin crew. A full tour of the Shannon Aviation Museum collections was also provided.The event forms part of the global Women in Aviation Day initiative.
