Sligo will host the IGTOA National Golf Tourism Conference and Gala Awards on October 20-21, bringing together golf industry leaders and tourism providers to discuss trends and showcase Sligo’s offerings.
This year marks the 27th anniversary of the event, which includes panel discussions, networking opportunities, and awards recognizing outstanding contributions in the golf tourism sector, including sustainability initiatives.
Sligo is highlighted as a premier golf destination with three iconic links courses along its Atlantic coast and two inland parkland courses, complementing its stunning landscapes and cultural heritage.
The conference aims to strengthen relationships in the golf tourism industry, establish Sligo as a top destination for golfers, and provide delegates with the chance to explore the region’s cultural and historical attractions.
Sligo County Council Tourism Officer Aidan McCormack said: “The IGTOA Conference in Sligo is poised to be a landmark event for the region, providing a platform to strengthen relationships within the golf tourism industry and promote Sligo as a top-tier destination for golfers from around the world and we’re pleased to be involved and support this prestigious event. In addition to golf, delegates will have the opportunity to explore Sligo’s rich cultural and historical attractions. Sligo is the adventure and activity capital of the north west of Ireland and the perfect place to immerse yourself in the landscape and unique culture.
