  • Stena Line offers pet cabins on Belfast-Liverpool, Dublin-Holyhead and Rosslare-Fishguard routes.
  • A dedicated pet lounge operates on the Belfast-Cairnryan service.
  • The Pawsport Control checklist helps owners assess suitability for travel.
  • Pet travel provides an alternative to kennel costs which can reach £200 per week.
  • Facilities include water bowls, pee pads and deck access.

Stena Line has partnered with Steve Leonard on the Pawsport Control checklist and pet owners have received guidance for summer holidays. The ferry company offers pet-friendly options on several Irish Sea routes. Pet cabins and lounges reduce the need for kennel boarding.

The initiative took place ahead of a forecast hot summer. Steve Leonard created a five-point checklist covering emotional and practical considerations for travelling with dogs. Routes include Belfast to Liverpool, Rosslare to Fishguard and Dublin to Holyhead.

Stena Line provides private pet cabins with direct deck access on selected services and a dedicated pet lounge on the Belfast to Cairnryan route. The company positions pet travel as an affordable and emotionally positive alternative to leaving animals behind.

Steve Leonard shared “For millions of families, their dog isn’t just a pet, it can be the central part of what holds the household together.”

Orla Noonan shared “Our goal has always been to make travelling with a pet as easy and stress-free as possible, so that owners don’t have to choose between a holiday and their dog’s wellbeing.”
