Thai Smile, a subsidiary of Thai Airways International, will shut down by December 31, 2023, ending its operations after eleven years.
Thai Airways will take over the remaining routes of Thai Smile starting from January 1, 2024, and will continue transferring assets and aircraft throughout January, with completion expected by January 31.
The Thai Smile website will remain active until December 15, and all existing reservations will be transferred to Thai Airways on December 16. The call centre will also remain open until December 31, after which callers will be directed to the Thai Airways desk.
This move aims to streamline operations and enhance efficiency within the Thai aviation sector while Thai Airways focuses on its financial recovery and plans to relist on the Thai Stock Exchange in the following year.
