Thailand’s Tourism Minister Sorawong Thienthong will submit a THB700m programme for free domestic flights to attract international tourists.

The initiative aims to draw at least 200,000 tourists to explore lesser-known destinations across the country.

Six airlines, including Thai AirAsia and Bangkok Airways, will collaborate with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to support the tourism industry. The proposal provides up to THB1,750 (€46.35) for one-way trips and THB3,500 (€92.70) for return flights for eligible tourists.

If approved, the programme will run from September to November 2025, and help reach revised estimates of 35m foreign tourists for the year.

Tourism Minister Sorawong Thienthong shared, “There is a particular focus on UNESCO-designated cities, popular tourist spots, and key destinations nationwide.”
