Michael O’Leary has “absolutely no” sympathy for residents around Dublin Airport, dismissing noise complaints as “utter nonsense”.

Speaking on Newstalk, Mr O’Leary described the noise impact as minimal, asserting that aircraft today are 50pc quieter than they were five or 10 years ago.

Addressing concerns regarding children attending primary school being impacted by noise, he remarked that they make more noise than the bloody aircraft overhead. “The children are only in the primary school from 9am until about 3pm in the afternoon.”

He urged that growth in Dublin should be managed by the Minister for Transport, not local councils, indicating that local issues should not dictate National Aviation policy.
