The 50th edition of Tianguis Turístico México has concluded in Acapulco with strong business outcomes and a focus on recovery and growth. The event took place from 27 to 30 April 2026 at Expo Mundo Imperial and marked the return of the fair to the city. Organisers reported around 64,000 business meetings held, which represented a substantial increase from the previous edition.

Mexico authorities revealed a portfolio of tourism investment projects valued at $42.452 billion overall, with $150m in new projects highlighted during the fair. Airlines including Mexicana de Aviación, Viva, and Volaris announced new routes and expansions that enhance connectivity to Acapulco and other destinations. Acapulco demonstrated progress with over 86 pc of its hotel capacity restored following previous challenges.

The edition featured international participation for the first time with pavilions from several countries and Colombia as guest of honour. Authorities presented tools such as the Tourism Investment Guide developed with UN Tourism and CAF. The event generated an estimated economic impact exceeding 1 billion pesos for the local area.

Josefina Rodríguez Zamora shared “This edition represents a platform for shared prosperity and a key instrument for strengthening the country’s global tourism positioning. Acapulco has recovered more than 86pc of its hotel capacity.”

The Tianguis Turístico represents a key platform to strengthen presence in strategic markets and generate high-value alliances.” A government official shared “this figure reflects the sector’s growth, with a 10 pc increase in the number of projects and a 16 pc increase in the amount of investment.”
