Most travel executives are maintaining or increasing their artificial intelligence spending despite broader macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainties, according to a Sabre industry study titled Compass: Navigating the Fog. Only 17pc of surveyed executives are reducing their AI spend while 41pc are protecting their existing core AI plans. Twenty-sevenpc are actively accelerating their AI investments and 15pc are specifically pivoting funds toward cost-reduction and efficiency tools.
Seventy per cent of investments target workforce tools and workflows to stabilise daily operations. Sixty-three pre cent focus on cost reduction and automation. Forty per ceent are directed toward data insights and analytics. Forty-two per cent support enhanced offers and upsell capabilities while 17pc focus on demand forecasting and pricing.
Geopolitical instability is ranked as the top concern by 75pc of respondents, followed by weakening consumer confidence. Despite these concerns, 66pc of executives feel confident about the next 12 months, with confidence jumping to 73pc among travel agencies.
