
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has announced that the theme for the 2024 World Safety and Operations Conference (WSOC) is “Embracing Innovation and Technology for Safe and Efficient Operations,” taking place from October 1-3, 2024, in Marrakech, Morocco, hosted by Royal Air Maroc.
The conference will address increasing operational challenges, including regional conflicts, cybersecurity threats, and extreme weather, while also exploring how technological advancements, particularly in AI, can enhance safety and efficiency in airline operations.
Keynote speeches and panel discussions will feature industry leaders, including IATA’s Director General Willie Walsh and Royal Air Maroc’s CEO Abdelhamid ADDOU, focusing on the significance of safety in aviation and the airline’s plans for growth ahead of the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
The programme includes various session tracks on Safety, Cabin Operations, Flight Operations, and Crisis Management, along with workshops covering topics such as turbulence, risk management, operational efficiency, and innovative safety practices, aimed at improving overall performance in the aviation industry.
