Dublin to Helsinki rotations AY1382@10.45 and AY1386@19.00 are among the casualties of Finland’s IAU’s industrial action scheduled for Friday, 16 May, with around 60 Finnair flights cancelled, impacting approximately 6,000 passengers.
Finnair is taking steps to mitigate the effects of the strike by offering rebooking options for affected customers through its online services.
Previous strikes earlier in May resulted in the cancellation of approximately 50–70 flights each day, leading to widespread delays for numerous passengers.
Disruptions to essential services, including ground handling and baggage processing, further exacerbated the challenges at Helsinki Airport during the earlier industrial action.
Passengers faced significant delays with luggage handling and wait times, prompting Finnair to issue refunds for cancelled flights and provide reassurances through customer communications.
Jaakko Schildt shared, “We regret the inconvenience and assure customers that we are prioritising swift rerouting solutions.”
