VIVA Cruises has confirmed that its Douro river ship has been renamed VIVA MIRANTE. The 120-guest ship, which entered service in 2024 as Porto Mirante, will adopt the new name with immediate effect. The change comes ahead of the vessel’s first full season operating exclusively for VIVA Cruises, when it will offer 32 departures on the Douro from March to November 2027.
VIVA MIRANTE includes 60 cabins with those on the upper and middle decks featuring French balconies. The ship features two restaurants, a panoramic lounge and bar, a fitness room and a sun deck with a pool and loungers. The ship also features a sky lounge and boutique shop.
The ship’s entrance will be updated to reflect the look and feel of the wider VIVA Cruises fleet. Existing marketing imagery will be amended to incorporate the new name. A sample 2027 sailing is Douro – A Journey Along the Golden River departing 23 June 2027 for seven nights from Porto, priced from €2,450pp.
