Kristi Noem, U.S. Homeland Security Secretary, is expected to move this week  to allow liquids be kept in bags on flights to and from America.

German, Netherlands and some English and Scottish have already moved to allow keep liquids, no matter what size, in the bag. US security officials have been slower than their EU colleagues to give the all clear to bags scanned by new C3 scanners.

Details regarding the new regulations on liquid sizes and quantities have not yet been disclosed.

The recent announcement indicates travellers may experience a modified security process at airports.

Last week, Noem revealed that travellers could keep their shoes on during TSA checkpoints.
