Wizz Air to base second A321-200 at Bucharest Baneasa

Wizz Air plans to base an A321-200 at Bucharest Baneasa in October 2025, increasing its stationed aircraft to two. The airline is launching nine routes from Baneasa and moving several existing routes from Bucharest Henri Coanda to the secondary airport.

New services from Baneasa will include destinations such as Barcelona El Prat, Brussels Charleroi, Milan Bergamo, and Turin Caselle.

Bucharest Henri Coanda will also expand with new routes to Bratislava, Brindisi, Cologne/Bonn, Gdansk, Pescara, and Porto in October.

Wizz Air is opening its first maintenance centre in Romania at Bucharest Baneasa in collaboration with Romaero, expected to operate from October.

A written statement shared, “The company inaugurated its Baneasa base in April 2025, launching operations with a Wizz Air Malta A321-200NX.”
