Work has commenced on a €200m investment at Cork Airport, marking a new era in its development.

The project includes constructing a mezzanine floor, an expanded security area, and new screening equipment to enhance passenger comfort. Cork Airport aims to maintain low security waiting times while accommodating record passenger numbers through the upgrades.

Future phases of the project will involve demolishing the old terminal and constructing a new pier to increase flight capacity. Industry leaders express confidence that the project will stay on schedule, within budget, and will bolster tourism and the local economy.

Niall MacCarthy shared, “We are delighted to be working with PJ Hegarty, a respected Irish construction company on this important first step in our terminal development.”
