Click&Go Holidays has released its latest Travel Sentiment Survey for 2026. The survey has found that 60pc of Irish respondents have not yet booked their 2026 holiday. 80pc of those yet to book have still considered taking a holiday this year.

Rising costs have influenced decisions for 78pc of those who have not booked while 48pc have cited geopolitical concerns. Sun holidays have remained the most popular choice at 47pc of planned trips. is the preferred travel period with 50pc planning trips between July and September.

The survey included 1,376 respondents and was conducted in the first quarter of 2026.

Then survey reflects international; experience where tour operators and agents report the consumer is just holding back from booking at the moment. Mastercard have said travel related payments are down 25pc across Europe over the past few weeks.

Paul Hackett shared “Irish holidaymakers are being more deliberate, weighing up costs and global events before committing. Demand for summer sun holidays remains resilient.”
