JustCover Irish Holidaymakers Research 2026 shows that 62pc of people aged over 55 seek adrenaline-fuelled trips with rail journeys across continent at 30pc, safaris at 24pc and swimming with dolphins at 18pc.
Irish holidaymakers prefer Spain, Italy and Thailand for rest while UK prefers Japan, Australia and Wales. The survey fund that 91pc of Irish adults take steps to reduce holiday costs including using cheaper airlines at 48pc and hand luggage only at 28pc.
Top planned destinations for Irish travellers include Spain at 48pc, Portugal at 24pc, Italy at 23pc, France at 16pc and Greece at 10pc.
Irish people favour city breaks and pool holidays more than UK travellers who prefer cruises and camping.
