Shannon Airport celebrates start of summer 2025 schedule with Ryanair flight to Madeira

Shannon Airport has celebrated the start of its summer 2025 schedule, which includes two new services to Madeira which commenced yesterday and Palma, which commences May 9.

The airport will operate 36 services to 11 countries, with a notable increase of 190,000 seats in summer services, marking an 11pc rise compared to 2024.

Ryanair will add 16 extra weekly departures to popular destinations such as Faro, Malaga, Alicante, Barcelona, Edinburgh, and Porto.

Mary Considine, CEO of The Shannon Airport Group, noted that the bustling summer will feature 332 weekly flights and highlight the airport’s role as a vital gateway for European, UK, and transatlantic travel.

Enhanced passenger experiences will include ease of parking, advanced security screening, US Preclearance, age-friendly initiatives, and a sensory room for travellers.
