Air China injects capital into Shenzhen Airlines

Air China has approved an agreement to inject funding and assets into its subsidiary Shenzhen Airlines as part of a RMB16 billion capital raise. The second tranche has amounted to RMB11.9 billion that includes five Airbus A350 aircraft and cash transfers. The injection has aimed to accelerate widebody fleet growth.

Air China has contributed RMB6.1 billion in a blend of cash and the five Airbus A350 planes. Shenzhen Kunhang Investment Partnership has injected RMB5.84 billion in cash. Air China has maintained its 51pc controlling stake and full consolidation of the subsidiary.
