Two out of every three Irish holidaymakers say travel plans are being influenced by high temperatures and September has grown in popularity for overseas trips. TheTravelExpert.ie survey of over 1,200 adults revealed that 64pc adjusted holidays due to extreme heat in Europe. Ninety-twopc still plan to holiday in Europe this year.
The survey was taken between 7 and 15 June 2026. Respondents take multiple trips with 95pc planning at least two holidays and 71pc expecting three or more. Direct flights from Ireland rank as important as price for 63pc of travellers.
Online travel content influences bookings with practical information valued highly. City breaks lead content preferences followed by destination guides and hotel reviews.
