Listowel food festival to host sustainability and food tourism seminar

The programme for the 2023 Listowel Food Fair on Saturday 11th November has been announced.

Listowel Food Fair was first established in 1995 and is one of Ireland’s longest running food festivals, now celebrating its 28th year.

Highlights of the 2023 Listowel Food Fair include:

  • Awards Ceremony: The 2023 Listowel Food Fair Awards will be presented in various categories, including Book of the Year, Local Food Hero, Best Emerging Artisan Food Producer, Food Writer of the Year, and the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
  • Culinary Evening: TV presenter Lizzy Lyons and celebrity chef Simon Delaney will host a special evening of culinary delights at ‘Lizzy’s Little Kitchen, Listowel.’
  • Special Workshops: ‘Taste the Atlantic” ambassador Sarah Browne will host two events, including a shellfish handling and cookery workshop and a workshop specifically designed for secondary schools.
  • Health and Wellbeing: The festival emphasises health this year, with a Health & Wellbeing Seminar presented by medical experts. There will also be a Breast Cancer Awareness Workshop and presentations on women’s health issues.
  • Farming and Sustainability: The Listowel Food Fair will host a Farming Seminar addressing sustainability, the future of Irish farming, and current agricultural issues. Additionally, there will be a Sustainability and Food Tourism Seminar to explore the potential impact of food tourism and sustainability.
  • Craft fair: Listowel Food Fair Food & Craft Hall on Sunday 12th November 2023 at the Listowel Arms Hotel will feature a selection of local craft, design and artisan food producers, cakes, craft beers, mulled wine, gifts, gourmet food, jewellery, art, chocolate, jams, chutneys and breads.

The 2023 Listowel Food Fair is supported by Kerry Group, Bord Bia, Bord Iascaigh Mhara, Teagasc, Fáilte Ireland, Tipperary Crystal, Kerry Local Enterprise Office, Kerry County Council, Garvey’s Supervalu and Eno Wines.
