Diethelm Travel, a Bangkok based DMC company with a 66-year legacy, has rebranded as DTH Travel.
CEO Stephan Roemer told guests at an event on the margins of the WTM travel exhibition that he and his partners have taken over Diethelm Travel from the former owners and have brought in fresh perspectives. Gonpo Tsering, a private equity investor, has driven the IT development, focusing on digitization and deep tech. Thomas Maurer, a renowned expert in product development, has expanded exclusive offerings in Asia.
- Dedicated management team: Our hands-on management team, present here at WTM, has shown immense dedication in achieving our ambitious goals. Their efforts have been instrumental in supporting our vision.
- Embracing technology: We’ve implemented a cutting-edge IT system based on Tourplan, enabling our agents and tour operators to access dynamic rates, online availabilities, and pricing. Despite this digital transformation, our commitment to personalized, high-quality service remains unchanged.
“In light of these transformative changes, we believe it’s fitting to reintroduce ourselves as DTH Travel, a new brand capturing our company’s renaissance period. Here’s what DTH stands for
- DTH: A simple and memorable name for our B2B brand.
- Expertise: Highlighting our industry know-how in Asia, with an exceptionally loyal team averaging 14 years of service.
- Boutique approach: Our independent offices in 13 (soon to be 14) countries ensure a personalized and in-depth understanding of each location.
- Community focus: DTH maintains its dedication to social responsibility efforts, continuing its pioneering work in Asia.
- Progressiveness: We adopt a modern and trendy approach in both our products and services.
Mr Roemer says the rebrand represents a transformative shift for the company, based four key pillars: industry expertise, tailor-made experiences, community empowerment, and embracing progressive vision.
The company says its focus on sustainability and meaningful travel experiences remains steadfast, with a commitment to supporting local communities and initiatives.
DTH Travel has digitalised its distribution process using TourPlan, which it says will lead to more efficient and convenient packaging of products for clients.
DTH Travel plans to open a new office in Japan in the first quarter of 2024, furthering its growth and commitment to innovation in Asia.
