A group of 100 Russian tourists took a four-day trip to North Korea, the first visits by foreigners since the pandemic and have shared their experiences.
The tour included a flight on North Korea’s Air Koryo from Vladivostok to Pyongyang, revealing dissatisfaction among tourists with the aged aircraft’s conditions and service standards.
Once in Pyongyang, the visitors witnessed performances at the Mangyongdae Children’s Palace, visited iconic sites like statues of past leaders and the Juche Tower, and were housed at the Yanggakdo International Hotel.
The group later explored the Masikryong ski resort in Wonsan, encountering North Korean elements like patriotic music, propaganda videos, and personal escorts, leading to varied impressions among the tourists about the totalitarian state, with some expressing reluctance for future visits.
