Irish Ferries has chosen Bloomsday on June 16th to announce the renaming of the former Oscar Wilde as James Joyce in honour of the famous writer and his works, including Ulysses, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, and Finnegan’s Wake.

The James Joyce ship will now service the Dublin to Holyhead and Dublin to Cherbourg routes, alongside the Ulysses ship.

The recently acquired Spirt of Britain will be renamed as Oscar Wilde.  The Oscar Wilde will join the Irish Ferries fleet on the Dover to Calais route later this month replacing the Isle of Innisfree, which will move to the Pembroke to Rosslare route.

Irish Ferries is offering a Kids Go Free offer on all motorist bookings for travel on the Irish Sea and Ireland France routes until June 30th, 2024, with prices starting from €170 for a car plus one adult on its Irish Sea routes. Passenger bookings can also earn loyalty points for future savings.
