
Ireland visits to Spain are 32pc ahead of pre-pandemic in March 2024, and down 2.8pc on March 2024, latest figures from INES show.
While this is partly due to the timing of Easter the effect of the passenger cap at Dublin airport, other markets have seen large increases in March (the largest inbound market since the decline of Germany), England was up 3.8pc, Italy up 27.7pc, Netherlands and Portugal up 11pc, Switzerland 9.7pc, Belgium up 8p and the USA up 11.8pc.
Canarias attracted the highest percentage of tourists in March 2025 with 23.6pc of the total; Catalonia followed closely with 20.8pc and Andalucía accounted for 16.0pc.
The number of visitors to Canarias increased by 0.9pc compared to March 2024, while Catalonia saw a 1.0pc rise, and Andalucía experienced a notable growth of 10.2pc.
From January to March 2025, Canarias received 4.4m tourists, reflecting a 2.1pc increase compared to the same period in 2024; Catalonia and Andalucía received 3.6m and 2.5m respectively, with increases of 6.4pc and 7.4pc.
Monthly data indicates a total of 6,593,604 visitors across Spain in March 2025, marking a 3.8pc year-on-year increase and an accumulated figure of 17,055,977 with a 5.7pc rise.
The figures released are provisional and will undergo review in March of the following year, with complete statistics accessible via INEbase.
