Norwich Castle Keep will fully reopen following a £27.5m redevelopment, marking the largest heritage project in the England this year.

The castle’s transformation includes recreated interiors that allow visitors to step back 900 years into the life of a medieval palace during Norman England.

For the first time, all five floors of the castle are accessible to visitors of all ages and abilities, enhancing its appeal as England’s most accessible castle.

The new Gallery of Medieval Life, developed with the British Museum, features over 900 artefacts of international significance and hosts a newly created 19-metre-long tapestry.

This tapestry, inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry, illustrates two rebellions against William the Conqueror and is the work of 50 local volunteers.
