Etihad Airways will operate 16 daily flights starting from November 9 and complete their transition on November 14, along with Air Arabia Abu Dhabi and 10 other airlines.
Terminal A will feature 35,000 square meters of shopping space, 163 retail stores, food and beverage options, health and beauty spas, a 138-key hotel, and an open-air lounge. It will also be the first terminal in the world to include all nine biometric airport touchpoints.
Terminal A will prioritise its green credentials by reducing water consumption, using solar panels to power a 3 MW plant, and implementing an Advanced Surface Movement Control System. The terminal has undergone operational trials involving 6,000 volunteers to stress-test equipment, staff, and procedures.
