AE Expeditions partners with CounterCurrent to integrate AI-powered navigation on the Douglas Mawson, launching December 2025.
Sensors will collect real-time wind, wave, and current data in the Southern Ocean for global climate models. The system optimises fuel-efficient routes, reducing emissions and enhancing safety in polar waters.
The initiative joins AE’s environmental partnerships, including Seawilding and HappyWhale, supporting conservation.
The collaboration aims to improve forecasting accuracy and maritime efficiency worldwide.
