Aer Lingus has been granted leave to appeal Ryanair’s plans for a €40m aircraft hangar at Dublin Airport.

The hangar is expected to provide maintenance for hundreds of Ryanair aircraft and employ around 200 engineers and mechanics.

It will be able to accommodate four Boeing 737 aircraft at a time and will perform various maintenance tasks.

Aer Lingus argued that the development would restrict its own operations and reduce the value of its adjacent land. Ryanair claims it is an attempt to limit competition and job creation.
