
Lawyers for AerCap have argued that it is highly unlikely for a legal case regarding 116 stranded aircraft and 23 engines to be properly and fairly tried in the Russian courts.
Insurers and reinsurance companies, including Lloyds, Axa, AIG, and Allianz, are being taken to court in London by lessors such as AerCap, SMBC Aviation, Carlyle Aviation Partners, Aircastle, and Nordic Aviation Capital.
The hearing began in London on Wednesday, with the lessors seeking to prevent the case from being shifted to Moscow.
