Aerolíneas Argentinas grounds eight B737-800 for engine inspections

Aerolíneas Argentinas has suspended operations of eight Boeing 737-800 aircraft equipped with CFM International CFM56 engines following a technical failure on flight AR1526 from Buenos Aires Jorge Newbery on 15 October 2025.

The incident involved aircraft LV-FSK (msn 41562), which diverted safely to Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini after the engine issue shortly after takeoff en route to Córdoba International.

The grounded aircraft include LV-FQY (msn 39436), LV-FQZ (msn 41563), LV-FUA (msn 40548), LV-FUB (msn 39893), LV-FUC (msn 41347), LV-FVM (msn 41329), and LV-FVO (msn 41356), none nearing the 17,200 flight cycle inspection threshold.

The carrier’s maintenance team focuses solely on engine checks, while requesting technical opinions from CFM International and regional operators with similar equipment.

Aerolíneas Argentinas operates 28 Boeing 737-800s within a fleet that includes five 737-700s, 13 737-8s, two 737-800(SF)s, and 24 Embraer E190s.

Aerolíneas Argentinas shared CFM International recommends inspection of these engines after 17,200 flight cycles.
