Air Arabia is set to receive its first A321-200NY(XLR) in 2027, aiming to expand its operations from Morocco and the Middle East to destinations like Russia and South Africa.
Speaking at Routes 2024 in Bahrain, the airline’s CEO, Adel Abdullah Ali, indicated that there are untapped opportunities in Egypt and said there is potential for extending routes further east into Africa and into Europe.
While the new aircraft could facilitate transatlantic flights, Air Arabia has opted not to pursue this route at the moment, preferring to observe performance with other airlines first.
With an existing order for 120 aircraft, including 20 A321neo(XLR)s, Air Arabia plans to bolster its fleet, which currently consists of 47 aircraft, along with 32 additional aircraft operated by subsidiaries.
