Air Canada has introduced larger overhead bins, new seating, and enhanced in-flight entertainment systems on its upgraded Airbus A321.

For the first time on a narrow-body aircraft, exterior cameras provide customers with real-time, high-definition flight views on the seatback entertainment screens.

The upgraded aircraft will serve as a trial environment for new technologies like Bluetooth audio at seatbacks and free high-speed internet for all customers.

The new cabin features include larger overhead bins, upgraded seating, Bluetooth audio, exterior cameras, full-colour LED mood lighting, reliable Wi-Fi, and power options at all seats. The IFE system offers an extensive content library, including live TV channels.

Air Canada plans to retrofit the remaining A321 and A320 aircraft in its fleet, aligning them with the highly popular A220 and Boeing 737 MAX cabins. These upgrades will improve the narrow-body cabin experience.

In addition to enhancing passenger comfort, the new cabin design reduces the A321’s weight and fuel consumption, resulting in significant fuel and emissions savings.
