Air Canada will launch flights from Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport to US cities starting spring 2026, challenging Porter Airlines for business passengers.

Routes include four daily flights to New York LaGuardia, three to Boston, two to Chicago O’Hare, and one to Washington Dulles. The airline increases frequency to Montreal and Ottawa from January 2026.

Air Canada cuts 400 management jobs, about one per cent of its workforce, following a flight attendants strike that cost €345m. Adjusted earnings forecast for the year lowers to €2.76bn after the strike impact.
