Airbus has published its commercial aircraft orders and deliveries for the month of July 2026, revealing 67 deliveries to 39 customers during the month. The company has recorded 204 gross orders for July, bringing the total deliveries for 2026 to date to 418 aircraft delivered to 82 customers. The figures reflect sustained demand for new aircraft, particularly in the narrowbody segment where the A320neo Family continues to drive order volumes.
The July performance received a significant boost from a landmark 200-aircraft order placed by SMBC Aviation Capital during the 2026 Farnborough International Airshow. The order comprised 100 Airbus A320neo Family aircraft, including 65 A321neo and 35 A320neo models, alongside 100 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. SMBC Aviation Capital also signed an agreement with CFM International for up to 90 additional LEAP 1-A engines to power its existing Airbus A320neo family orders, securing a continuous pipeline of new aircraft deliveries through to the mid-2030s.
The European planemaker now requires an average of 90 deliveries per month between August and December to achieve its full-year target of around 870 aircraft, with CEO Guillaume Faury indicating the wording “around 870” remains consistent with deliveries up to 890 units.
The company booked 204 orders in July following a subdued Farnborough Airshow, bringing total orders for the year to 1,024, or 1,090 after adjustments including last month’s cancellations of 15 A330neos for AirAsia X as part of a deal to purchase 150 A220s. Orders included confirmation of non-Farnborough deals for dozens of aircraft from Hainan Airlines and China Eastern, alongside 100 A320neo-family orders from Irish leasing giant SMBC Aviation at Farnborough.
Airbus has taken a more conciliatory tone towards Pratt & Whitney in their ongoing dispute over engine supplies, with internal sources confirming the company is pushing to achieve more than 900 deliveries. Boeing, which booked 102 MAX orders from unidentified buyers in June, is due to update its data next Tuesday. SMBC Aviation, the world’s second-largest leasing company, also ordered 100 Boeing 737 MAX at Farnborough.
That Farnborough Airshow saw over 300 firm orders placed across the industry, with Airbus securing additional commitments from carriers including Flynas, Shohin Airlines, and startup BermudAir. Riyadh Air also confirmed orders for Airbus A350 aircraft as part of its fleet expansion strategy. The latest-technology narrowbody aircraft offer airline customers increased operational flexibility and significantly reduced fuel consumption compared to previous generation aircraft types.
