
Alaska Airlines has sold the B737-9 involved in a mid-air door blowout incident in January 2024 back to Boeing, and has purchased an additional B737-10.
The airline has a total of forty-five B737-10s on firm order, along with twenty B737-8s and eighty-two B737-9s.
The B737-9 involved in the incident, registered as N704AL, has been taken possession of by Boeing and its registration has been changed.
The aircraft has been parked at Portland International Airport since the incident.
