AirNav Ireland flights up 2.6pc to 118,634 in first six months of 2024

AirNav Ireland managed 118,634 flights in the first half of 2024, up 2.6pc compared to the same period in 2023, and safely handled a total of 325,194 flights in Irish airspace, a 2.9pc rise year-over-year.

The CEO of AirNav Ireland, Peter Kearney, attributed the increased traffic movements to a boost in the Irish economy, emphasizing the company’s commitment to improving safety and efficiency in air traffic management.

AirNav Ireland is focused on sustainable practices aimed at reducing CO2 emissions and fuel consumption while enhancing the efficiency of passenger travel.

Mr. Kearney presented AirNav’s plans to Minister James Lawless, highlighting the goal to attract up to 300 air traffic controllers and engineers over the next decade and encouraging youth to explore careers in air traffic control through their website.
