American Airlines has launched a redesigned app featuring simpler navigation and a familiar user interface similar to popular apps.
The app will be rolled out to customers until the end of May and includes dedicated sections for AAdvantage members and upcoming trips.
Upgrades for IOS users include real-time flight updates available on the lock screen and compatibility with iPads.
Familiar functions remain in the updated app, such as check-in, mobile boarding passes, and security wait times at major airports.
British Airways plans to enhance its website and mobile app with deeper personalisation within its £7bn transformation programme.
“Heather Garboden, American’s chief customer officer, shared, ‘We’re dialled in to delivering on new ways to make our customers’ travels with us as easy as possible, so improving their most powerful tool – the app – is a focus of ours.’”
“Over the last year, our team has been taking feedback from customers to understand their pain points and wish lists to make sure we’re tailoring the next evolution of the app to deliver what they want most.”
“This newly redesigned app is the first step in giving us a base that will allow us to continue to build and release new features so we can always deliver what customers value most.”
