American Airlines is to suspend flights between Dallas/Fort Worth and Frankfurt from June 2, New York JFK and Madrid from June 25, and Miami and Paris CDG from May 4 to July 2025, due to B787 delivery delays.

The airline will also reduce frequencies from Philadelphia to Rome Fiumicino and Dallas/Fort Worth to Honolulu from June through August 2025, following earlier adjustments to Chicago O’Hare-Paris and Miami-Buenos Aires routes in late 2024.

American Airlines operates 59 B787s and has 30 more on order, but delivery delays have caused long-haul capacity constraints, with no B787s received in 2024 and 10 expected in 2025.

The introduction of the new Flagship Suite business class seats has been deferred again due to the ongoing B787 delivery delays, as confirmed by the airline.
