American Airlines has unveiled a new Centennial Flagship livery on a Boeing 777-300ER, registered N735AT, featuring vintage orange lightning bolt designs inspired by the 1930s Douglas DC-3, set to fly in November 2025.
The aircraft, named Flagship DFW, honours the airline’s Dallas–Fort Worth hub and incorporates a circular eagle roundel, symbolising global connectivity from American’s early branding.
The livery complements fleet upgrades, including new Flagship Suite cabins with closing doors and wireless charging, alongside Premium Economy enhancements like adjustable headrests and 4K QLED screens in Main Cabin.
American operates twelve special liveries across its fleet, including Heritage Jet Programme designs honouring merged airlines like AirCal and TWA, with each repaint costing up to €465,000.
The Flagship branding, rooted in the 1930s, continues to define American’s premium long-haul experience, with the new design bridging the airline’s century-long legacy and future ambitions.
Ron DeFeo shared, “American has thoughtfully chosen a design that evokes our rich history while looking ahead to our next 100 years. Throughout American’s history, ‘Flagship’ has always been recognised as our premium travel experience. Painting the original Flagship design on our Flagship aircraft is a powerful way to honour that legacy while embracing the future.”
