Eoghan Phibbs, Country Manager for Ireland at Google, will be outlining key travel trends at the Ireland’s Association of Visitor Experiences and Attractions (AVEA) annual conference. The conference aims to discuss how the tourism industry can adapt to the digital-first generation and achieve its full potential.

The conference’s theme is “World Class Experiences – Local Authenticity,” highlighting the importance of delivering excellent and memorable experiences while staying true to Irish hospitality.

Phibbs wil emphasises the role of AI in transforming the travel industry. He mentions that businesses need to ensure their online presence, enable online bookings, and provide key decision-making information to cater to consumers spending more time researching their holidays online.

Avea’s CEO, Catherine Flanagan, highlights the importance of shifting the warm Irish welcome online while maintaining local authenticity. She mentions AI’s ability to personalize data and enhance customer service tools, “we are known worldwide for our warm Irish welcome. This welcome is going to have to shift somewhat online and how Ireland’s tourism attractions and experiences can do that is one of the key areas for discussion at our upcoming conference.

The conference takes place at the Falls Hotel in Ennistymon on October 23-24.
