Avolon delivered the first of six Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft to Virgin Australia as part of a sale and leaseback agreement.

Virgin Australia, an Avolon customer since 2011, currently has eight aircraft on lease with the Dublin-based aviation finance company.

The delivery marks the 12th Boeing 737-8 MAX in Virgin Australia’s fleet, supporting its growth and fleet renewal strategy.

Avolon’s orderbook and balance sheet enable tailored solutions for customer airlines’ expansion and fleet transition needs.

The agreement strengthens the long-standing partnership between Avolon and Virgin Australia, with five more aircraft deliveries planned.

Paul Geaney shared: “We have a strong and long-standing relationship with Virgin Australia and are delighted to support their plans with 6 new 737-8 MAX aircraft. The scale of our orderbook and balance sheet give us the ability to provide our customer airlines with bespoke solutions to support their expansion and fleet transition.”
