British Airways cancellations disrupted travel plans for approximately 25,000 passengers over the weekend, leading to extensive flight cancellations.

Today Monday September 9’s London City BA4471@20.05 and inbound BA4468 have been cancelled at Dublin airport.

More than 100 flights were grounded on Friday, primarily due to adverse weather conditions in London, affecting holiday destinations like Larnaca, Ibiza, and Mallorca at London Heathrow Airport and also impacting London City Airport with cancellations to destinations such as Barcelona, Florence, and Malaga.

The disruptions continued on Saturday with at least 60 more flights affected, including those to Mediterranean hotspots like Athens, Rome, and Palma, leaving some passengers stranded overnight.

Travellers faced challenges as scammers exploited the chaos, posing as BA representatives to steal personal information, while passengers struggled to find alternative travel arrangements and rebookings on other airlines did not always include required hotel accommodations under European air passenger rights laws.
