
Belfast City Airport has recovered to 97.4pc of its pre-pandemic levels, showing a growth of 13pc in the past year, almost exactly that of Belfast International airport. It is responsible for 4.7pc of the traffic to and from the island.
The comparative growth figures for the two Belfast airports are 13.047pc for Belfast City and 13.042pc for Belfast International.
In 2024, passenger numbers on the London City route decreased, affected by the ongoing decline in business travel and resulting in a 2.6pc shortfall overall.
The airport concluded the year with just under 2.4 million passengers, marking a challenging period for the facility.
Aer Lingus Regional is committed to the airport’s future, serving 537,000 passengers on four exclusive domestic routes, while EasyJet operates four of the airport’s top ten routes.
The figures for 2024 show Dublin airport is responsible for 68.8pc of traffic to and from the island and the two Belfast airports responsible for 18.1pc with Cork at 6.2pc and Shannon at 4.2pc.
