China’s Blue Dream Cruises has suspends services in China from January 4, 2026 amid rising tensions between China and Japan. Refunds will be issued to affected customers.
The company is citing maintenance requirements for Blue Dream Melody vessel while low passenger bookings have affected upcoming itineraries. Routes to South Korea will place previous plans.
The ship formerly operated as AIDAvita and paused operations before a post pandemic relaunch in 2024. The vessel accommodated 1,200 guests.
Social media reports highlighted insufficient demand and a recent sailing advertised heavily discounted fares. The cruise ship was also scheduled to visit Ha Long Bay from Beihai.
The company’s customer service department confirmed it would issue refunds and noted there is no news on whether operations will continue.
